I was sent to find the stories happening around the 2016 Republican National Convention in Cleveland that would resonate with our Indianapolis audience as then-Gov. Mike Pence was nominated as the GOP candidate for vice president. My work included traditional reporting of the protests and political activism, as well as blog entries giving readers deeper insight into the overarching experience.

The majority of my field reporting experience is based in politics, specifically the Indiana Statehouse, but I have also covered some of the highest-profile trials in recent Indiana history as well as more light-hearted material like GenCon, new housing developments and community events connected to the Indianapolis 500.

JUDGE CONSIDERING LIFE WITHOUT PAROLE FOR RICHMOND HILL SUSPECT

A jury convicted Mark Leonard of all 53 counts he faced as the ringleader of the November 2012 explosion of his girlfriend's home in order to collect on the $300,000 insurance policy. The explosion killed two people, Dion and Jennifer Longworth, and did more than $4 million in damage, destroying more than 3 dozen homes and damaging more than 70 others.
